TB-500 is a synthetic fragment (residues 17–23) of the naturally occurring 43-amino-acid protein thymosin beta-4. In preclinical research it is studied for its role in actin sequestration, cell migration, and vascular formation. Investigators use TB-500 in wound-healing assays, cardiac ischemia-reperfusion models, and equine soft-tissue studies. The truncated peptide is significantly smaller than full-length thymosin beta-4 and is easier to synthesize at research-grade purity.
