How the math works
Reconstitution concentration is simply the peptide mass divided by the diluent volume: a 10 mg vial reconstituted with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water gives 5 mg/mL, or 5,000 mcg/mL. To pull a 250 mcg research aliquot from that vial you divide 250 by 5,000, which is 0.05 mL — read as 5 units on a U-100 insulin syringe.
Adding more water lowers the concentration and increases the draw volume for the same dose, which can make small aliquots easier to measure accurately. The peptide quantity itself never changes — only the volume it is dissolved in.
